Incorporation: Woodland Port District, created by local taxpayers in October, 1960.

Voting District: District encompasses the Lewis River Valley and the City of Woodland and includes approximately 12,000 residents.

Current tax rate: $0.29 per $1,000 of assessed value.

Annual Revenue: $990,000 in 2011 (including $216,000 from property tax receipts).

Engagement Opportunities

Port Commission meets the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Room at the Port of Woodland Office.

Residents of the Woodland Port District may run for port commissioner.

Notes of Special Interest

Ports, per the Revised Code of Washington (RCW), have the authority to collect tax monies from an allocation of property tax funds collected from the port district.

The uses of property tax proceeds by the Port of Woodland, by port policy, are limited to fund capital improvements, environmental remediation and repayment of debt.
The Port of Woodland owns approximately 200 acres of light industrial property, as well as roughly 320 acres of Columbia River waterfront property for recreational purposes.
Approximately 250 people work at companies located on Port of Woodland properties.
