Fire DistrictsServing Ridgefield, Battle Ground and La Center, Clark County Fire and Rescue came into being when Clark County Fire Districts 11 and 12 merged on February 1, 2008. Serving the communities of Camas and Washougal, East County Fire & Rescue formed on May 16, 2006 when Clark County Fire District 1 merged into Clark County Fire District 9. Fire District 9 then petitioned the Board of County Commissioners to officially change the name to better reflect the service area of eastern Clark County, a.k.a. “East County”. A small rural district, Clark County Fire District 2 is located in northwest Clark County, near Woodland. Clark County Fire Protection District 3 protects Hockinson, Brush Prairie, Venersborg, Battle Ground Lake/Heisson and Rawson Road/Highlands neighborhoods. Clark County Fire District 5 was first organized in 1954 as a volunteer organization, serving the community through one fire station in Orchards. In cooperation with the Vancouver Fire Department, district 5 now serves the neighborhoods of Orchards, Sifton, Proebstel, Barberton, Heritage, Walnut Grove, St. Johns, Pleasant Valley, Five Corners, Glenwood and Minnehaha. District 6 was established in 1954 by a vote of the citizens of the community. The district serves and encompasses Felida, Salmon Creek, Hazel Dell and the Clark County Fairgrounds area. Fire District 10 serves north Clark County, headquartered in the Town of Amboy. Fire District 13 serves north Clark County, headquartered in the Town of Yacolt. |
