General Information

Incorporation: In 1845 area was incorporated as Vancouver County, became Clark County in 1849.

Area: Bounded on the North by Cowlitz County, on the East by Skamania County and the West and South by the Columbia River.  Approximately 656.6 Square miles.

Population: 424,200 (April 2008).

Mission: Each department within the county has its own mission statement. There is no mission statement for the county as a whole.
